MyDownloads v1.4 Android apk app
Requirements: Android 2.1+
Overview: MyDownloads is a download manager to avoid Android's limitation when downloading files.
MyDownloads is a download manager to avoid Android's limitation when downloading files.
Did you ever rage because Android didn't let you download a file? That happens when you don't have any app associated with that specific filetype. MyDownloads will take care of that allowing you to download any file you want to.
This app will automatically ask to download files from many different formats: apk, zip, rar (+r01, r02...), 7z, avi, mpg, mpeg, flv, mp4, mp3, mkv, exe, bin, iso, dvd, dmg, rpm, gzip, tar, pdf, doc, docx, xls, xlsx, ppt, jar, m4v, tgz, wmv, wma, tif, wav, mov, psd, rmvb, ogg, ogm, cbz, cbr, cbt, cb, cb7, asf, avi, wmv, m1v, mp2, snd, au, aif, aifc, aiff, wm, bmp, jpg, jpeg, jpe, jfif, gif, mswmm and ipa (More might be added later if they are requested).
It will let you download any file easily from the browser with a long tap, then choosing "Share link". Also, if you share text with a lot of links it will try to extract them and add them all to the download list.
Added new option when sharing a website: Browse with MyDownloads. It will let you browse any page and automatically detect the downloads (Should be useful as a workaround for Opera or Dolphin HD users).
This app will not "open" or "execute" any file. It only downloads them and interacts with other apps that will let you open them, which the standard Android download manager fails to do.
New (2011/06/09): Added Megavideo support! If you open any Megavideo link with the app it will download the FLV file, allowing phones without Adobe Flash to watch them (If the phone supports DivX/Xvid or has a video player that supports ffmpeg).
New (2011/06/29): Added support for Coast to Coast AM MP3 downloads.
New (2011/07/03): Added support for Basic Http Auth, you can either add urls with the format http://username:password@www.domain.com/file.zip or tap on any download to manually set the username/password combination.
New (2011/07/08): Download different file types to different folders. Email me if you want more file types added :)
Note: Some websites are blocking third party downloads (I got a report of a failed flv from http://h2something.com/yadda/yadda/14422.flv, which *requires* being logged in to download). When you find one of these, send me an email so I can support them (Just like I did with Fileserve or Megaupload). Thank you.
Recent changes:
Improved layout.
Added the option to edit a download's file name before starting the download.
Added the option to choose a different download folder for each file type (right now: videos, images, audio, comics, Android apps and "others").
